Hey guys, so as you know, I have been "car pooling" with my friend and so I decided that I was gonna start putting out monthly issues of a magazine I like to call "trend my ride" Its not like any other cover of a magazine, because I can basically do what I want, also, nothing on the cover in the call outs make any sense whatsoever! I hope that you guys enjoy my first issue!
Hey everyone, this is that Daewoo I was telling you guys about. My co-worker drives this sweet ride and he picks me up for work everyday. So what I decided to do was help him Trend His Ride! Last week we installed some speakers, actually all four new speakers, because he had blown all but one out (the passenger front). I had some JBL laying around and been holding on to them forever because I was gonna put them into my old 68 mustang that I had, but never got around to it. Anywho, now he is updated with surround sound and another co-worker of mine has an amp and soon we plan on putting in some 12 just for that little bump in the trunk! Also, I started to do a monthly issure called "trend my ride"
Hope you guys like this months edition to Trend my ride!Hey everyone, If you don't know, I am now down to one car these days so lately I have been getting a ride from one of my home boys from work. Hes got a sweet ass Daewoo, one of those Lanos! I'll show some pics of that later. Anywho, I have been searching for the right car to buy, but just really haven't found one yet. Today there are sooo many options out there from car to trucks, suv, minivans, crossovers, its a mindful! So basically I have narrowed my search down to this for sure, I plan on buying a classic muscle car that I know will not loose value (as long as I keep it in great shape of course) and it will be easy for me to do the work on it when something happens, instead taking it in for someone to overcharge me for service and parts.
On sunday I drove over an hour to see this ride. Its a Plymouth Fury! Its a four door car that doesn't really need much of anything to get here looking great! Its a mechanically sound car that get about the same gas mileage that a surburban get :( It was pretty sweet though, Fury...how come cars these days don't have awesome name like this.
Wouldn't this car be sweet if I slammed it to the ground and suicide the doors! Thats what I'm talking about
I also looked at this car on Saturday. This is the one that I would like to have but looks like I have to wait and see where fate leads me.
Every Sunday Mater, Jess and I have dinner together, pretty much no matter what. Lately Matt (Jessica's brother) and Lindsey, (Matt's fiance) have been joining us for some lovely dinners on the grill. We pretty much try to make it homemade/scratch if possible and really have fun in making dinner. Also this is a great chance for all of us to catch up and discuss what is going on in our daily lives and pretty much complain about everyone else! Just kidding!
First try at some homemade buffalo wings from the grill, Jess made some corn with zesty butter and potato salad from scratch as well. I didn't get a picture of the lemonade that she made, but it was fantastic....blueberry, mint, and a bunch of other awesome goodness.
This is a salad, basic green stuff, but we had some "ranch" dressing that Jessica made, suppose to be raw! It was pretty good, the rice is like a pilaf of some sort that you have to basically bake in the oven instead of boiling it on the stove. And shrimp that was marinated with wholesome taste, which you can only get at certain places! Overall dinner....greatness!
Yess...homemade hamburgers, I grow the beef myself...yess grow the beef! This was last weeks, probably the easiest of all Sunday's soo far. Burgers and brauts! Yums to that, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, condiments and as you can see in this pic, the very best of or actually "the champange of beers" miller High Life! Also we had three different types of chips!
Grill master hard at work, you like my buns!?
Birthday's birthdays. Looks like everytime you turn around someone is having a birthday. Dexter was having his big 40th and this party was a blast! Holly threw this bash, which she had been planning for weeks and Dex had noooo idea that this was going on. She did a casino theme with two blackjack tables and a craps table. Had a professional bartender with 3 types of martinies and a pony keg. I made a dvd/slideshow of a bunch of pics during the roast and did music throughout the night, except when everybody got drunk and started changing all the songs around! :(
This is a really good pic of Dex and Holly!
Of course Jessica makes me look good. Jess came over with me on Friday to help set up lights and then before party on Saturday we put up balloons everywhere! Jess and I stayed till about 3 in the am and then drove Holly and Dex back to there house, and it was a good night!
Jess and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo the other day or month actually and had a really good time. It was kind of hot, but everything else made it worth while. We met up with Jerry, Joann, and little Eric. It was his first time to see the Fort Worth Zoo, and I think that he had a great time!
This is a good pic of the Zebra, with its black and white, or is it white and black? I'm not soo sure these days, also Jess and I don't look bad either!Eric looks like he is having a blast! For it being such a hot day and all he was doing really good. I guess when you are being carried around all day by people also has its advantages!
I believe he is in that phase where he starts to realize that he has a tongue and all too. He is very cute little kid!
So this weekend is a very eventful weekend. Always work to be done and never enough time to do it. I finally got a chance to work a that speaker boxx that I have been putting off forever. I put a couple of coats of body filler on and let that sit while Jess and I finished up some yard work
this is a close up of the filler filling in the dips and dents, and pretty much all inperfections that I'd created.
This is a good shot from the front. I have to finish filling out the sides and pretty much anywhere else that there is wood showing, needs to be covered up.
Also, Jess and I did some mad painting this weekend on Sunday morning before our regularly scheduled Sunday dinners happen. We started off by moving everything out on Saturday and covered the bed on Sunday morning. We just used a roller and the handle from my push broom to do the ceiling. I watched Jess try to paint the ceiling for about 5 minutes and then couldn't stand it anymore, so I had to take over.
After we finished this, started on the walls. We trimmed around the windows and door where we could, but eventually we are gonna put new mouldings up, so we were a little sloppy painting close to the edges and all.
So its friday and its been the longest week ever...EVER! Haven't been up to much, just doing the normail daily grind of life, but I can't complain. The house is still a mess "construction zone" and the bathroom is still where I left it,...no where! Anywho, at work, there is a side door that we use to go out and do whatever during our breaks, but some people take advantage of it and never shut the door back right. So the company started telling us that if we don't close it back they are gonna leave it locked and then no one can go out.. That is what happens when you work with a bunch of kids that you have to constantly remind them to shut the door behind them when they come in. So we sent out an email reminding everyone one to please shut the door, and still you have people who are absolutely retarded they can't remember to close the door when they come in. We have a rock that we use to hold the door open cause you can only open the door from the inside and when you come in you just pick up the rock and move it inside by the door. Still people can't even do that. So we painted it in a nice colorful orange and keep it in our room so that if anyone needed it they would have to come and get it from me.
Of course, people still leave this thing inbetween the door....Always one person messing it up for the rest of us!What is line ball? Well, one day a co worker and I were playing wall ball, but it was way too much running for us, so we started throwing the ball up against the wall of where we work and of course that is only fun for soo long right? Anyways, we noticed the blue line that was several feet above us and decided to throw at that, now the game has evolved into an awesome sport like no other, at least for us! Anyways here are some rules that we go by now.
-LINE BALL RULES AND REGULATIONS-
NO KICKING! KICKING RESULTS IN A TECHNICAL FOUL, IF YOU KICK TWICE, AUTOMATIC EJECTION
-TECHNICAL FOULS RESULT IN LOST OF TURN
THROWING OUT OF TURN RESULTS IN LOST OF TURN AND IF POINT IS MADE IN (OUT OF TURN) THEN THE POINT DOES NOT COUNT.
ANY ACTION THAT LOSES THE BALL IS AUTOMATIC EJECTION
STEPPING OVER THE LINE IS A FOUL, POINT DOES NOT COUNT
EVERY PLAYER IS GIVEN ONE MULLIGAN AND CAN BE USED AT ANYTIME BEFORE THE NEXT PLAYER THROWS
POINT CAN BE OVER TURNED BY AT LEAST TWO OTHER PLAYERS, FOR INSTANCE IF A BALL IS CALLED HIGH OR LOW.
-IF A DECISION CAN NOT BE REACHED BETWEEN TWO PLAYERS THEN A RE-THROW IS GIVEN
NO MORE THAN 4 PLAYERS TO A BALL.
-SCORING-
ANYWHERE ON BLUE IS GOOD
FIRST TO FIVE WINS, THERE IS NO SECOND PLACE
IF YOU HIT CRACK (CORNER EDGE THAT CURVES INWARD TOWARDS THE BLUE LINE) ABOVE OR BELOW THE “LINE” IT IS CONSIDERED POINT
We play with a racquet ball which you see here. The original ball that started it all.
We play on a 5 point system, so every time you hit the line, you move back for a further shot until you get to the curb. As you can tell from my amazing photoshop skills, the lines are definitely there!
heres a great shot of the nice "blue line", its a pretty good distance away when you are standing from the back line.
I used to have a Daewoo in high school! I HATED THAT CAR!!! Mine was a hatchback and a stickshift... read more
